ARRIVAL INFORMATION 

 

What Airport do I fly into ? 

There are 3 airports on Eleuthera, make sure you select the North Eleuthera Airport, code ELH, upon arrival take a taxi from the airport to the Three Island Dock ($5 per person)  At Three Island Dock take a water taxi over to Harbour Island ($5 per person).

 

How do I get to The Whale once I arrive ?  

You can take a taxi from the dock to the house, walk (about 5 minutes if you don’t have too much luggage) or prearrange for your golf cart to be dropped off at the dock so you can drive yourself. We are located on Princess Street, half a block up from Bay Street and just a house down from the Princess Street Art Gallery.

What is the WIFI Code ?

How do you get the TV running on the Lanai ? 

The TV on the Lanai has Netflix, you can watch through the Frances Account.  If you are having issues with the Netflix it usually just needs a reboot you can unplug the wifi by the desk in the main house and unplug the booster in behind the TV on the Lanai.

 

HOUSE INFORMATION

 

Can we drink the water ? 

We do not recommend drinking the water, there is a cooler in the kitchen that will be refilled during your stay, please let the property manager know if you are running low. Extra Bottles of water will be left on the Kitchen Patio.

 

What happens if the power goes out? 

If you have been to Harbour Island before you will know that the power frequently goes out, we have a generator and this shouldn’t cause you any issues but sometimes you need to reboot the WIFI and TV on the Lanai when this happens.

 

Need Babysitting ?

How does the housekeeping work ? 

Depending on your group there will be one or two housekeepers provided Monday through Friday.  Please refrain from using the laundry while the housekeepers are working, they need to be available for house laundry (towels/bedding) and ask the housekeeper to let you know how the laundry works before using for personal use or ask if she can do a load for you if need be.

* IT IS CUSTOMARY TO GIVE $25-30 PER PERSON PER WEEK GRATUITY TO THE HOUSEKEEPER.

 

Is there Pool/Garden Maintenance ? 

Someone will be by daily to do a quick clean and monitor the levels in the pool and water the garden. If you would like to change the temperature of the pool please let the property manager know, please do not change the temperature yourself.

Air Conditioning ? 

Each room has it’s own Air Conditioning Unit, in an effort to conserve energy please turn off/down when you are not in the house.

 

Garbage Disposal ? 

The housekeepers will empty daily and the manager will be by every few days to dispose of the garbage. Please do not flush anything down the toilet that is not toilet paper.

 

ISLAND INFORMATION

 

Are there any ATM’s on the Island ? 

Yes inside the Royal Bank on Dunmore Street.

 

What Currency can you use in The Bahamas ? 

Either the United States Dollar or Bahamian Dollar. The Bahamian Dollar is tied to the US Dollar and is equal in value. Everyone accepts American Dollars so there is no need to exchange to Bahamian.

 

Can I use my credit card on the Island ?  

Yes, Mastercard and Visa but not always Discover or Amex. 

 

How do you get around the Island ?  

We have two bikes and you can easily walk everywhere, but we recommend that you rent a golf cart.  We have two golf cart spaces on our property, one is suitable for a 4 seater and one is suitable for a 6 seater.

 

Can we pre order spirits or groceries before we arrive ? 

Yes, you can order from Captain Bobs prior to your arrival, you can reach him at (242) 359-7725

 

Is the Island Safe ?

Yes, we have never had any issues but use your common sense. Do not leave cash or valuables out in the open/in your golf cart/outside overnight. Take the keys out of the cart when you are not using and lock up the house and windows when you leave the property.  If you are using the bikes, please lock up when they are out of site. Better be safe than sorry.  We have several safes within the house that you can use if you’d like during your stay and we have a security system that monitors the entrances of our property.

 

Where are the medical facilities on the Island ? 

There is a clinic at the Hospital with a Doctor, the number is (242) 333- 2227.

We highly recommend the private medical clinic Briland Premier Medical Centre (242) 699-5451.
